Strip Gaps inside hull

Fri, 05/05/2017 - 18:14
I've got the outside of the hull and deck glassed and am sanding the inside of the hull. I didn't get the rolling bevels matched up very well on the first few strips around the curve. The joints look good on the outside but on the inside there is a gap nearly full length of the boat between ...

Epoxy: Behlen's Solar Lux

Thu, 05/04/2017 - 07:38

Strip Options for deck line fittings

Thu, 05/04/2017 - 04:16
Got a little distracted by winter activities, but eventually got back to work and I'm finally almost done stripping the deck of my Mystic Star, so I'm thinking about next steps. At this point I really want to get this boat finished and in the water - no compromises on safety, but simplicity ...

Material Devil in the Details

Wed, 05/03/2017 - 08:55
Trouble found me. How many dozens of kayak deck/hulls have I taped together without trouble. I ran out of my 2" clear 3M packing tape I use for the task. The local store had Ace packing tape. What could go wrong? It worked just fine holding the deck/hull together as I glassed the interior seams. ...
